Injections are performed using a very fine needle, but the procedure is relatively painless. Small discomfort and bruises can occur, but no sedation or local anaesthesia is required. Normal activities can be resumed immediately.
Results will last around 3-6 months depending on how much Botox is injected and the area targeted. Gradually you will notice lines and wrinkles reappearing, however they often look less serves with time because the muscles are shrinking.
Although the results are visible, a treatment with Botox should not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve “had work done.” The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows.
The entire procedure takes approximately 15 minutes and normally results take about two to three days to start showing results, with maximum effect at about one to two weeks, depending upon the strength of the facial muscle.
